The 2024 World Lefthanded Golf Championship

The WALG Committee is proud to present the 2024 World Left-Handed Golf Championship in association with event co-ordinator APTTGOLF - Anphong Tourist Company.

The event will take place from 7 to 13 April, 2024 in Danang, Central Vietnam.

The committee looks forward to welcoming left handed and right handed golfers from around the world and to enjoy the hospitality of Vietnam along with the cultural experiences on offer.

DaNang is considered one of the best golfing destinations in the world and combined with the beauty of the seaside villages including the old town of Hoi An, it promises to be a very special event to decide our 2024 World Championship.

The event will be played on four championship golf courses:

Hoiana Shores Golf Club (2 rounds),

Bana Hills Golf Club,

BRG Danang Golf Club (Greg Norman Course),

Golf Courses

BRG Danang Golf Club

It is a unique golf challenge that every golfer will enjoy. Fairways are generous and there is restrained use of water and no out-of-bounds. Sculpted bunkering, shaped putting greens, and large natural waste areas have been cut directly from the surrounding sand dunes. Scoring well requires that shots are carefully placed to give players a chance to go for the pins on the undulating greens.

The fairways are also lined and well defined by long needle pines, so miss into the trees and you will be forced to punch off the sand and pine needles along a safe line just to get back into play.

Bana Hills Golf Club

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is a mountain course with a diverse mix of natural topography and vegetation. Every hole and vantage point is framed by a beautiful backdrop of local native forest. The entire course is lit from the first tee until the 18th green, allowing patrons the unique experience of playing golf after dark.

This stunning property is set amongst some of the most impressive mountain ranges in the region, complimenting the inaugural Luke Donald designed course. It is destined to become one of the finest in Asia.

Hoiana Shores Golf Club

Framed by majestic views of the Eastern Sea and Cham Islands, Hoiana Shores Golf Club (HSGC) offers a thrilling links golf experience for golfers of all levels. With a spectacular natural seaside setting, a luxurious clubhouse and 18 challenging-yet-rewarding holes, this is a must-play course for any golf enthusiasts visiting the region. Robert Trent Jones Jr. is regarded worldwide as "the father of environmental golf course design" for his surprisingly low impact on the landscapes he works with.

Format, Rules & Prizes

Format

The WALG 2024 is open to all worldwide Amateur Left-Handed and Right-Handed Golfers.

The WALG Championship will be over 72 holes stroke play in following Divisions:

Open

Senior(60+)

Super Senior (70+) *

Ladies

The following divisions will be played as stableford scoring:

Super Senior (70+) *

Right hand partners

Super Seniors will need to nominate when registering if they elect to play in the Stroke or Stableford Competitions. Stroke Competition will be from the Blue Tees; Stableford will be from the Red Tees

Only players in the Stroke competition will be eligible for the Doug Crosby trophy.

Entry for Senior and Super Senior is based on age at 8^th April 2024.

Pace Of Play

Pace of Play is paramount to this competition to ensure timely and enjoyable rounds for all golfers in this competition. Everyone is required to ensure that they play within the times allotted by holes and adhere to the times as stated on the pace of play placards which will be placed at regular intervals during the round and also to respect the Marshall’s indications for pace of play.

Dress Code

No jeans, collarless tee shirts or tracksuits at all golf courses

General

The R&A Rules of Golf shall govern all play. Wherever applicable, all Local course rules to be followed. All communication regarding the tournament rules, format, scoring or any doubts or clarifications is to be presented to the tournament committee in writing or in email. In case of discontinuation/disruption of play due to Rain or any other situation beyond the Organisers, the committee shall decide how to proceed and inform the Golfers accordingly.

All decisions made by the tournament committee will be final and binding. The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes to the format etc and announce the same before the commencement of the tournament.
