About Dalat

Along Highway 20, from Hochiminh City to Dalat is approximately 308km. Being discovered by French in late 19th century and formed in the early 20th century. Da Lat is the city of flowers and honeymooners with lovely French villas, the fresh air, the beautiful waterfalls and gorgeous lakes sits in a lush and green valley.

Dalat city owns a cool temperate mountainous climate year-round. In particular, located in the tropical savanna climate, Dalat retains two distinct seasons: rainy season and dry season. The rainy season in Dalat occurs at the same time with the south-west monsoon, starting in April and ending in November. Meanwhile, the dry season coincides with the northeast monsoon, which lasts from November to April. The average monthly temperature in Dalat never exceeds 20°C, even in the hottest month.

Visitors when traveling around Dalat may discover many beautiful waterfalls, lakes, hills and valleys of flowers and grass hills and enjoy products of Dalat including many kinds of fruits such as: Persimmon, Plum, Peach, Avocado…, many unique traditional dishes and souvenirs only found in Dalat.

Langbiang Mountain, one of the must-see Dalat attractions, is situated on Lang Biang Plateau, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province. This is only approximately 12 km far from Dalat centre and sometimes named Lam Vien Mountain as well. Legend says that the Langbiang name was originated from the name of a couple who were deeply in love with each other – the man named K’lang and the woman named Ho Biang. Langbiang contains the two highest peaks of Lam Vien highland and one of them is usually regarded as the roof of Dalat. The mountain is well-known for its wonderful nature and its marvelous view of the whole wide region of Dalat City, the rivers, the forest, and houses of tribal people.

Da Lat Railway Station was a train station of Da Lat’s city. This is reckoned the oldest station in Viet Nam as well as Indochina. The station was built by the French from 1932 to 1938 and is the railhead of the Railway Phan Rang-Da Lat, about 84 km in length. The station has a unique architectural style, with three conical roofs, which are the stylization of three Langbiang mountain tops or the hollow of mountain Highlands. The station is currently a hotspot attracting tourists.

At the very heart of the city, crescent-moon-shaped Xuan Huong Lake adds character to a beautiful town like Da Lat. This is a man-made lake and the most beautiful lake of Da Lat, giving this romantic city an invaluable gift of having a lake right in its centre.  For having more interesting experience, you could rent a tandem bike to wander around this lake. This will bring to you such a great moment.

Valley of Love is a very romantic destination for couples. Indeed. The valley is located on the hillside, with the green pine forest, surrounding a large lake, and adorned with lovely flower gardens... it has the poetic landscapes and a lot of interesting activities and games.
